“Not today” were Riot’s exact words regarding how soon Competitive Mode will be available in Valorant. But the outlook is still very positive. Riot’s confirmed that the release of Competitive Mode is on a “day-to-day” basis that’s heavily dependent on server stability and the competitive integrity of the queues. Not today, Riot says, but that could very well change tomorrow.

Judging from what Riot is saying, it sounds a lot like Competitive Mode is already finished from a development standpoint. Any feature that’s day-to-day would have to be in a completed state. Which makes Riot’s worries about server stability and potential exploits somewhat eyebrow-raising. It is a closed beta, though. These things are to be expected.

Valorant players looking forward to its upcoming Competitive Mode just need to be patient. Just like with Riot’s closed beta key drops on Twitch, there’s always another chance tomorrow. Riot wants to get Competitive Mode into players’ hands just like it wants more players in the closed beta, but everything can’t happen at once.
