In a short video posted on Twitter, Riot gave fans a new look at Viper’s poisonous abilities. At the start of the video, the Valorant character uses an ability called Poison Cloud, which places a poisonous orb on the map and damages enemies that walk through it. The next ability seen in the trailer is Toxic Screen, where Viper puts up a huge wall of gas. Viper has a poison meter and when it runs out, the cloud and the wall will also come down.

One ability that doesn’t use Viper’s poison meter though is her ultimate, Viper’s Pit. Viper’s Pit is a huge cloud of poison that will stay up if Viper stays alive in it. In the trailer, an enemy can be seen changing color when they step into the pit, which will make it easier for any Viper players to take them down. All Valorant characters have ultimate abilities, but this one sounds particularly exciting.
The trailer has got fans feeling excited about the game, but many will want to see more from Viper than that. The trailer doesn’t show the ability Snakebite, which is where Viper fires an explosive that turns into acid, which could be one of the most fun to use. Riot has confirmed that there will be a Valorant beta so hopefully if no other trailers for the character are released, this will allow fans to test all of the abilities when they play.
There are also several other Valorant characters that could potentially get trailers like this. Riot has said that Valorant could have 10 characters at launch but some will be locked. It’s unclear if all ten characters will get reveals, but fans would certainly enjoy seeing them ahead of launch.
It’s unclear what kind of gameplay these other Valorant characters can offer that fans haven’t seen from other games like Overwatch, which it has been compared to. Viper’s Toxic Screen works like Mei’s Ice Wall in Overwatch and another Valorant character called Sova, has an ability called Recon Bolt which is like Hanzo’s Sonic Arrow. Riot likely has some ideas of how to make its game seem like it isn’t just Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with some Overwatch characters, but fans are waiting to see them.
Valorant will launch sometime during Summer 2020 for the PC.
