According to Valkyrae herself, her contract with YouTube expires on Saturday, January 15, and she still has to stream for a whopping 198 hours before it’s up. Valkyrae asked her Twitter followers what she should stream and asked if there was anyone that wants to play with her to help knock out those 198 hours. The tweet amassed over 100,000 likes and over 1,000 replies as people threw out suggestions for how Valkyrae can reach her 198 hour obligation by January 15.

Valkyrae has over a month to hit 198 hours of streaming time on YouTube, and so she shouldn’t have a huge problem hitting that goal as long as she streams consistently. Needless to say, Valkyrae fans should have plenty of streams to look forward to between now and January 15, so it’s definitely a win for them.
Perhaps the most interesting thing about Valkyrae’s YouTube contract ending is what it means for the streamer’s future. Valkyrae has built a massive following for herself on YouTube, and a number of other top streamers have jumped ship to the platform since she signed her contract a couple of years ago, including Dr Disrespect, TimTheTatman, and most recently, Ludwig. Considering this, it’s entirely possible that Valkyrae will stick with YouTube over Twitch even after her exclusivity contract expires.
It’s also possible that Valkyrae will go to Twitch or turn her attention elsewhere. Valkyrae has denied that she will quit streaming, but maybe she’ll focus more on her 100 Thieves esports organization and other ventures. After all, Valkyrae has already risen to the top of the streaming world and even won an award for Content Creator of the Year at The Game Awards, so maybe she’ll want to conquer other areas of the industry.
There will be a lot of eyes on Valkyrae regardless of what she decides to so, as she remains one of the most popular streamers and gaming content creators in the world. So while it’s unclear exactly what her future holds at this time, fans should expect Valkyrae to remain in the spotlight for quite some time to come.
